Nothing tastier than fresh Dungeness!

Dungeness season is here!

As 2012 rolls on we get close to one of my favorite times of year. The time when the charter boats can fish the combo trips for crab and rockfish. In the Ft Bragg area, rockfish is expected to open on May 12, and I’m planning a trip already. I’d love to hear recommendations for charters that leave out of the SF Bay Area, as well as other good California charters. If you know a good charter, send me an email.

Tasty Dungeness crab!

With simple nets or full blown crab pots, crabbing from a pier offers some distinct advantages—not to mention you don’t even need a license!
